August 2009 Edition
My work is in the
spiritual and energy healing field. One of the things that I
frequently run across from lightworkers and seekers are that they
feel a need to protect themselves and need to perform all these
rituals to protect them from evil, lower energies, etc.
I am an empath which means I am very sensitive to energies all
around me whether other people's energy or the earth's, so much so
that sometimes I know when an earthquake, etc is coming. I have
learned and am learning new ways to deal with this. I have tried
all kinds of methods and suggestions that people have made.
I understand people's concern about energy
draining however, I have to wonder why people are fearful of
certain energies and go to great lengths to protect themselves.
We sage ourselves, our homes, we do rituals to
clear the unwanted energies, we use crystals, we use sprays, we
have our mantras, we put the "white light" around us, etc. I have
to think how silly the Creator must think we are and how He/She is
finding humor in such things. Does sage or crystals have more
power than the Creator who created them? We have become so
dependent on these material things to protect us, that we forget
that all we have to do is go directly to the Source and ask for
protection. If we accept and claim our light and we live with the
intention each day to BE the light we are, then don't you think
that we are already protected? Isn't just knowing that we are
protected enough? Why do we need these toys?
If the light is more powerful than the dark, then
why do we fear the dark? Doesn't it only take one small candle to
light up a room? Some people are now afraid of allowing other
people in their homes for fear of "unwanted lower vibrational
energies" Some people only want to be around "higher vibrational
people". Although I tend to gravitate towards others who are a
vibrational match to me, I do realize that as a lightworker, I
need to be around others to help them reveal their light. My
experience is that many of the "lower vibrational energies" are
actually repelled by the light and won't come around or they won't
stay long because they can't stand to be around so much light. Our
light is much stronger than their darkness. We need not be afraid
of our own light and we need to have confidence that we can
conquer the "darkness", just by being ourselves. We don't have to
DO anything, we just have to BE ourselves. We are Divine Beings
and as Divine Beings, we don't have to be afraid of anything.
So, I encourage you this month to put away the
toys and just be with knowing that you are already protected.
Light incense because it smells good and you want to enjoy the
fragrance, not because of what you believe it will do for you. Go
out in public knowing that you are the light and you are going to
share your light with others and help them find their light. Go
out of your house with confidence knowing that you are protected
and that there is nothing that will harm you because you are a
Divine Being. Shine Your Light!
